Stage 4 - Liminality
The Liminality stage marks a pivotal and often disorienting phase in the evolutionary cycle.
At this stage, you find yourself standing at the threshold of profound change, acutely aware that the old way of life, beliefs, and paradigms no longer serve your evolving self.
The doors of your past are closed, but you don’t yet know which door to your future to open.
Confronted with uncertainty, not knowing precisely what lies ahead, it’s a time of letting go of the familiar, which can be unsettling and even chaotic. You’ve outgrown your previous self and are in a state of transition, akin to the cocoon of a butterfly before it emerges transformed.
Qualities of Liminality
Despite the challenges of Liminality, it can bring the greatest positive change. It’s when you are in the darkness of liminality that you have the biggest potential for growth, learning, and transformation. However, it might not exactly feel like it at the time.
This stage requires faith and taking a risk. When you take the risk, go on the healing course, get the therapy, and make the changes in your life, you move into becoming a visionary.
Open-Mindedness
You foster an open-minded attitude as you start to question old beliefs and become receptive to new perspectives and possibilities.
Courage
It requires courage to face uncertainty and embrace change, making this the stage of personal growth and inner strength.
Creativity
Liminality often inspires creativity and innovation as you seek out new solutions and pathways.
Resilience
You cultivate resilience and adaptability as you navigate the challenges of transformation.
Heightened Awareness
A heightened sense of awareness and sensitivity to the world around them, including a deep connection to nature and a sense of interconnectedness with all living beings.
Ever deepening Spiritual Experiences
Profound spiritual experiences or moments of awakening may occur, providing a glimpse of higher states of consciousness or transcendent realities.
Seek Guidance
A desire to seek guidance from mentors, spiritual teachers, or therapists who can help navigate the liminal space.
Something to be aware of in this stage is that many people know they need help or to take action to move out of this stage. However, they use the very thing that they need to change as the reason to not change.
For this reason, this stage can be the hardest for people to get themselves out of. They know that the support is there, but the very reason they need the support is the reason they think they can’t get or take it.
