The Golden Rule of AI
As someone who builds custom AI agents for consciousness integration, I spend a lot of time defending the power of these tools. I know what they can do. I know how deeply they can facilitate transformation.
But I also have a very strict rule for anyone who uses them:
Always keep a human in the loop.
I say this over and over again to my clients and students. Do not take the output of any AI—even my amazing, carefully crafted GPTs—as the answer. It is an answer. It is information. And that is all you can rely on it to be.
What This Is: The Limits of the Machine
In the military and ethical tech sectors, there is a massive debate about allowing AI to make decisions that lead to harm without a human in the loop. Anthropic, for example, has drawn a hard line against this.
In the coaching and healing space, the stakes are different, but the principle is exactly the same. When you are navigating deep emotional terrain, recalibrating a soul contract, or looking for your keystone limiting belief, the AI can guide you. It can ask brilliant, piercing questions. It can synthesize your thoughts faster than a human therapist ever could.
But the AI does not have a soul. It does not have a body. It cannot feel the resonance of a truth landing in your nervous system.
Why This Matters for Your Sovereignty
If you hand over your ultimate authority to an AI, you are repeating the oldest mistake in the spiritual playbook: giving your power away to a guru. It doesn’t matter if the guru is a person on a stage or a large language model on your screen.
You must remain the sovereign authority over your own consciousness.
The Danger of Abdicating Discernment
The common trap is that AI is so articulate, so fast, and so convincing that we start to believe it knows us better than we know ourselves. We ask it a question about our life purpose, it gives us a beautifully formatted five-point plan, and we just accept it.
But if that plan doesn’t resonate in your body—if it doesn’t give you that full-body “yes”—then it is just words on a screen.
The Benefits of the Human-in-the-Loop Model
When you use AI as a collaborator rather than an oracle, you experience:
- True Collaboration: You bounce ideas off the AI, refining and sharpening your own intuition.
- Maintained Sovereignty: You never lose trust in your own internal compass.
- Better Outcomes: You combine the massive processing power of the machine with the nuanced, energetic discernment of the human soul.
How to Practice Discernment with AI
The next time you use an AI tool for personal reflection or business strategy, read the output and then pause. Close your eyes. Check in with your body. Ask yourself: “Does this feel true for me?” If it does, use it. If it doesn’t, tell the AI to try again, or simply discard it.
You Are the Authority
Use the tools. Let them show you your blind spots. Let them offer you the second, third, and fourth right answers. But you must remain the final authority on your own consciousness. You are the human in the loop.
