Let’s talk about cravings. That sudden, overwhelming, hijack-your-brain demand for chocolate, or chips, or a vat of pasta.

In the world of diet culture, cravings are the villain. They are the saboteur. They are proof of your weakness, your lack of discipline, your failure.

We are taught to see them as an invading force to be fought, resisted, and white-knuckled through. The battle with the craving is the central drama of every diet.

But what if that entire premise is wrong?

What if your cravings aren’t sabotage at all?

What if they are messages?

Your Body is Not Stupid

Your body is a deeply intelligent, sophisticated organism that has evolved over millennia to keep you alive. It is constantly communicating with you, sending you signals about what it needs to function optimally.

It is not stupid. It is not trying to trick you. It is not your enemy.

When you have a craving, it’s not a random, malicious attack. It is a highly specific request. It’s a message from your body, delivered with urgency because it’s been trying to get your attention in quieter ways, and you haven’t been listening (because, as we’ve established, your nervous system has been in a state of chaos).

Your craving isn’t the problem. Your inability to translate the message is the problem.

From Battle to Translation

Imagine your body is sending you a critical message in a language you don’t speak. It gets more and more insistent, shouting the message louder and louder. Instead of trying to find a translator, you just try to shut it up. You see the messenger as the enemy.

That’s what you’re doing when you fight a craving.

The shift—the real work—is to stop fighting and start translating. To get curious. To ask a different question.

Instead of: “How do I make this craving go away?”

Ask: “What is this craving trying to tell me?”

This one shift changes the entire game. You move from a state of war to a state of curiosity. You move from being a victim of your body to being a student of its wisdom.

Your body has been speaking to you all along. You just needed the right decoder.

If you’re tired of fighting a war you can never win and you’re ready to become a translator for your own body, this is where the real work begins. If you want to know more about the framework I use to decode these messages, you can find more info at www.cetfreedom.com. Or send me a message. I’m here for it.
