There’s a fear that lives deep in the heart of every person who has ever been on a diet.

It’s the fear that if you stop controlling, if you stop restricting, if you let go of the rules… you will never stop eating. You will descend into a chaotic spiral of non-stop binges on pizza and ice cream until you weigh 1,000 pounds.

This fear is the gatekeeper of the prison. It’s the one thing that keeps you going back to the diet, back to the rules, back to the cage, even when you know it’s making you miserable.

The belief is that the only two options are: rigid, white-knuckled control OR complete and utter chaos.

This is the biggest lie diet culture ever told you.

There is a third option. And it’s the only one that actually works.

The opposite of control is not chaos. It’s trust. The opposite of dieting is not a free-for-all. It’s intelligence.

Think about it. Do you need a set of rules to tell you when to go to the bathroom? Do you need a meal plan to tell you when you’re thirsty? Do you need an app to tell you when you need to sleep?

No. Because you trust your body’s signals for those things. You have a lifetime of experience that has taught you that your body is a reliable source of information about its own needs.

So why is food different? Why do you believe that your body, which is perfectly capable of managing every other complex biological process without your conscious interference, is a complete idiot when it comes to feeding itself?

You don’t believe it. You’ve been taught to believe it.

Diet culture has systematically eroded your trust in your own body. It has spent a lifetime convincing you that your hunger is the enemy, your cravings are sabotage, and your body’s signals cannot be trusted.

The fear of chaos is the evidence that it has succeeded.

The way out is not to find a “better” system of control. The way out is to systematically and intentionally rebuild the bridge of trust between you and your body.

It’s to learn, through practice, that your body is not a chaotic monster waiting to be unleashed. It is a deeply intelligent, self-regulating organism that, when freed from the trauma of restriction, knows exactly what it needs to thrive.

When you stop fighting and start listening, you don’t find chaos. You find a wise, trustworthy, and intelligent partner you never knew you had.

If that fear of chaos is what’s keeping you stuck, I get it. It’s powerful. But it’s based on a lie. If you’re curious about the process of rebuilding that trust and accessing your own body intelligence, you can find more info at www.cetfreedom.com. Or send me a message.
